 Dave & Eileen Woodhead have been organising fell races on the Bronte Moors for over 30 years! They were recently awarded the British Empire Medal for services to Fell Running!

Weather

Known as the ‘friendly sport’ there is a long tradition and history of Fell Running in the Yorkshire Dales.  There are now probably more races and more active clubs than there ever has been. Including some long distance walks, there are now over 60 races in the Yorkshire Dales to choose from!

From classics such as Burnsall and the Three Peaks to the many show events that have sprung up over the years to become firm Calendar favourites on the Fell Racing Scene!

There are races for young and old alike with Categories that range from U12 - to over 80! It truly is a sport that can be participated in by the whole family.

There are many well Established Clubs, that cater for all ages and if you are looking for an alternative to road running that has fresh air and magnificent scenery in abundance, then fell running could be just the sport you are looking for!

The BOFRA 2017 (British Open Fell Runners Association) championship comprises 15 junior races and 16 senior races.

Whilst non-members are more than welcome to enter these races, you must be a fully paid up member of BOFRA to claim championship points. Race entry fees apply!
